India is on a month long tour to West Indies and the first match that is going to be a Test is going to be played from 12th July 2023. West Indies have declared their squad for the first Test while the Indian team has announced the Test squad for both Tests.
Cheteshwar Pujara has been left out of the Test squad. Mohammed Shami has been dropped and Mohammed Siraj, Jaydev Unadkat, Mukesh Sharma and Navdeep Saini will be India’s four pacers for the Test series. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal are also added to the squad.
Jaydev Unadkat and Mohammed Siraj are expected to be the two key pacers in the Test series. Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini may not get an opportunity to showcase their talent. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal are all set to debut for the Indian team in the first Test against West Indies.
