“India needs backup for Hardik Pandya,” Says Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir says that India needs to find a backup for Hardik Pandya.

The former left-handed batter Gautam Gambhir who helped India win the 2007 and 2011 World Cup finals, has come out with a striking statement for the Indian cricket team management. Gambhir believes that India soon needs to find a backup for Hardik Pandya.

"India needs backup for Hardik Pandya," Says Gautam Gambhir

Hardik Pandya was recently injured in the 1st T20 against Sri Lanka. He suffered a cramp while taking a catch in the match. In the end, he ended up not bowling his quota of overs, and that could have been the moment which resulted in India’s loss. However, somehow India managed to pull through but Gautam Gambhir does not seem impressed with Pandya’s fitness.

Gautam Gambhir said, “India needs to quickly identify a backup for Hardik Pandya. If something happens to him, India will be in serious trouble.” The former Indian cricketer believes India lacks a quality all-rounder who can replace Hardik Pandya in the playing XI.

The 50 Over World Cup is coming near, and India surely needs to find a backup for each player in the Indian squad for the World Cup 2023.
