India-Pakistan in the same group in Asia Cup 2023- ACC President Confirms

India and Pakistan are placed in the same group in Asia Cup 2023.

ACC President Jay Shah confirmed that the Asia Cup 2023 (ODI) would take place in September, and India-Pakistan will be in the same group. The tournament will have two groups, which will be played in the 50-over format this year. Currently, Sri Lanka is the Asia Cup title holder.

Asia Cup 2023 Groups- India-Pakistan in Group A

Asian Cricket Council Chief Jay Shah, on 5th January 2023, announced that India and Pakistan are in the same group in Asia Cup 2023, which will be played in September 2023. The hosting rights for this year are with Pakistan, but due to the political tension between India and Pakistan, we can expect the tournament to take place in UAE or some other neutral venue.

Group A will feature matches among India, Pakistan and an Asian cricket team which qualifies for the tournament. On the other hand, Group B will have matches against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The Asia Cup 2023 will serve as much-needed practice for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 for the Asian cricket teams.
