Following the conclusion of the ongoing ODI World Cup, India is set to face Australia in a five-match T20I series later this month. This series holds significant importance for Team India as it offers a valuable opportunity to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled in the Caribbean and the USA next year.
Given the short turnaround, India is likely to rest several of their first-choice players, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Shami for the Australia T20Is.
Emerging reports suggest that the explosive Assam batter, Riyan Parag, might receive his maiden national call-up due to his impressive performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also expected to return to the Indian squad as Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah are expected to be rested.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad are expected to be three openers in the squad. Hardik Pandya is sidelined due to an injury and therefore Suryakumar Yadav could captain the team. Left-handed batters Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh are expected to bolster the middle order.
Sanju Samson and Jitesh Kumar will be the two wicketkeeper batters in the squad. Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar are going to be the frontline all-rounders. Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Prasidh Krishna will lead the pace attack. Ravi Bishnoi and Yuzvendra Chahal are expected to be the two main spinners.
