India and Australia are going to face off in the four Test match Border-Gavaskar Trophy from 9th February 2023. The first Test match of the series will be played at VCA Stadium, Nagpur. Following which the next three matched will be played at Delhi, Dharamshala and Ahmedabad.

Shreyas Iyer, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant are out of the Indian Test squad for Border Gavaskar Trophy as of now. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood are out of the Australian squad for the 1st Test against India. They are both injured right now.

Here are 3 Important Things You Need to Know about India vs Australia Test Series 2023:

1- India has won the last two Border Gavaskar Trophy Test Series

India is currently the holder of Border Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian cricket team scripted a famisu victory against Australia at Gabba to defend the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Before that India has defeated the Australia in the Border Gavaskar Test series that was held in India in 2018.

2- Australia has included four specialist spinners in its squad for the Border Gavaskar Trophy Test Series

The Australian cricket team is serious about winning the Test series in India. They first refused to play any practice matches in India and then announced an 18 man squad for the Test series against India which includes four specialist spinners. Nathan Lyon, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Swepson and Todd Murphy are the four spinners that will represent Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

The Australian vice captain Steve Smith has said that a series victory in India is bigger than the Ashes. He is all set to tackle the spin of Indian bowling line-up. Recently, he was seen at the Sydney Cricket Ground preparing extensively for the spin challenge in India.
