In a dazzling display of cricketing prowess, India secured their ninth consecutive victory in the ICC World Cup 2023 by overpowering the Netherlands with a commanding 160-run win. The Men in Blue, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, posted a formidable 410/4 after winning the toss in Bengaluru, showcasing their batting might against a spirited opposition.

Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul emerged as the heroes of the night, slamming impressive centuries, while the stalwarts Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill contributed with powerful fifties. The Indian batting juggernaut left the Dutch bowlers gasping for answers, setting the stage for a comprehensive triumph.

However, the spectacle didn’t end with India’s batting brilliance. The team showcased remarkable versatility as Kohli and Sharma, the batting maestros, turned into wicket-taking bowlers. Kohli, in a surprising twist, dismissed Scott Edwards for 17, announcing his first ODI wicket since January 2014. Sharma joined the party by claiming the crucial wicket of Teja Nidamanuru.

What stood out was India’s strategic bowling deployment, with nine different bowlers gracing the pitch. Even part-timers like Gill and Suryakumar Yadav tried their hand at bowling, yielding fruitful results. The four part-time bowlers collectively bowled 7.5 overs for 2-48, showcasing India’s depth in both batting and bowling departments. Kohli’s impressive figures of 1-13 from three overs added an extra layer of accomplishment to the team’s performance.

Amidst the jubilation, former cricketing maverick Virender Sehwag shared his enthusiasm and optimism for the Indian team. He praised the unexpected wickets taken by Kohli and Sharma, expressing a Diwali wish for the streak to extend from 9-0 to an extraordinary 11-0 in the upcoming week as India continues its pursuit of World Cup glory.
