IPL 2022: 3 Favourite Teams Who Can Win The IPL Trophy

Every year 8 teams battle it out against each other for the golden IPL trophy, however Mumbai Indians & Chennai Super Kings have together clinched 9 titles out of 14. This year 10 teams will be facing off each other to lay their hands on the shining trophy.

It’s that time of the year when the biggest domestic cricket league in the world is about to begin. Yes! Indian Premier League (IPL) is starting from 26th March 2022 with an opening clash between last year’s defending champions Chennai Super Kings and runners-up Kolkata Knight Riders. Mumbai Indians, the most successful franchise in the world with 5 titles to its name, will face Delhi Capitals on 27th March 2022 in the afternoon game.

Every cricket fan is electrified for this season as the format of the tournament has been changed due to the introduction of two new teams. Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titians led by KL Rahul & Hardik Pandya respectively will fight out with vintage teams for the IPL 2022 trophy.

Let’s find out which teams are favorites to win the IPL trophy this year-

1) Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow Super Giants have check-marked every possible thing for the finest team. Andy Flower is an experienced head coach, who has been the head coach of England when they regained ashes. Moreover, India’s opening batter who played crucial knocks in India’s 2007 & 2011 world cup as KKR’s two IPL trophy victory has been appointed as the mentor for the team.

India’s probable future captain KL Rahul as captain with a brawny side leaves no drawbacks or possible outcomes for them to lift the IPL 2022 trophy. Rahul & Quinton at the top, Stoinis & Jason Holder as the world-class all-rounders and Ravi Bishnoi’s spin web and Avesh Khan’s fast lethal bowling with Andrew Tye’s slower delivery makes them an invincible side.

2) Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians retained their marquee players Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav &  Kieron Pollard before the mega auction. However, they couldn’t retain their pocket dynamo Ishan Kishan but bought back in the mega auction for whopping 15.25 crores. Although, they couldn’t afford the services of Krunal Pandya who was bought by Lucknow Super Giants.

Mumbai Indians built a brawny side even in the limited budget. They got Baby AB (Dewald Brevis), who had a splendid U-19 World Cup run recently, along with Tim David (Singapore”s) explosive batter for the lower order. Precious fast bowlers – Jofra Archer, Tymal Mills and Jaydev Unadkat will be lethal to batters along with Jasprit Bumrah. Mumbai Indians also got two top-quality spinners Murugan Ashwin and Mayank Markande.

After such a balanced playing XI, Mumbai Indians hold a chance to lift the IPL trophy for the record 6th time.

3) Kolkata Knight Riders

Two times IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders were finally able to crash into the IPL finals last season, however they felt short of the finish line. Kolkata Knight Riders had some positives from the previous two seasons as they got their gem players in Varun Chakravarthy, Venkatesh Iyer who were retained along with Sunil Narine and Andre Russel before going into the mega auction.

Kolkata Knight Riders roped in Shreyas Iyer from the mega auction to lead their side who turned the luck of Delhi Capitals, since he took over the reins back in 2019. The franchise tried to accumulate their ex-player like Pat Cummins, Shivam Mavi and Nitish Rana.

Thus, a brawny side has been developed by the KKR management and a young experienced leader like Shreyas Iyer has been commanded to sail the ship for them. The team holds considerable chances of lifting the IPL trophy as the majority of players are experienced with this side and know their role significantly.
