DC vs RR at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was an encounter filled with massive sixes, huge scores, and a dramatic ending. Rajasthan Royals batted first and posted the highest total of this year’s IPL of 222 runs. Delhi chased the target with fearlessness and required 36 off the last over.
Rovman Powell had the strike, and he deposited Obed Mccoy for three consecutive sixes to keep Delhi’s hope alive. However, the third ball of the last over was clearly a waist height no-ball, but the umpire did not think so.
It led to one of the most infamous incidents in IPL history as the DC captain Rishabh Pant asked his teammates to abandon the game and come back to the dressing room. One of DC’s coaches, Pravin Amre, went to the ground to discuss the no-ball with the umpire in the middle of the 20th over.
At last, everything was brought under control, and Rovman Powell took the strike, but he could take his team to the finish line, and Delhi lost by 15 runs to concede their 5th loss of the tournament.
