IPL 2022, KKR VS GT: Titans continue their winning ways

KKR vs GT, the 35th match of Tata IPL 2022, consolidated Gujarat Titans’ place as the top team in the tournament. Gujarat Titans won their 6th match to stay on top in the points table and almost book their seats in the playoffs of IPL 2022.

KKR vs GT Highlights:

Hardik Pandya won the toss and became the first captain in Tata IPL 2022 to choose to bat after winning the toss.

GT Inning:

Gujarat did not have the start they hoped for as Gill departed only after scoring just 8 runs. Pandya promoted himself to bat at three in-game against KKR. He played one of his best innings in Tata IPL 2022 and constructed a crucial stand with Wriddhiman Shah for the 2nd wicket.

Shah and Pandya added 75 runs for the 2nd wicket before Umesh Yadav sent back Shah on 27. Miller came in at fourth position and carried on from where Shah had left. He combined with Hardik to form a 50 run stand for the 3rd wicket.

Miller scored 27 off 20 and Pandya 67 off 49. The duo’s dismissal in quick succession put Gujarat on the backfoot as KKR did not let others get away with the game in the last 5 overs. GT only managed 29 runs in the final 30 deliveries and posted a total of 156 runs on the board.

KKR Inning:

KKR again changed their opening combination and sent Sam Billings alongside Sunil Narine to open the inning. However, their experimentation failed miserably, and both of them were sent back under 10 runs for the team.

Nitish Rana and Shreyas Iyer did not last long on the crease, as the former scored 2 while the latter made 12 runs. Rinku Singh was impressive in his debut in Tata IPL 2022, and he scored 35 off 28. Venkatesh Iyer, slotted at 6th position, could not make an impression.

Andre Russell brought back the life to match with his fiery inning of 48 off 25, including 6 massive sixes. However, once he got dismissed, there was no way for KKR to chase down the total. They ultimately fell short by 8 runs.
