MI vs CSK, built as the El Classico of the tournament, was a disappointing game in which both teams played poor cricket. The match proved why these teams had conceded so many losses in the tournament.
CSK becomes the 2nd team after Mumbai to be thrown out of the race for the playoffs. Chennai was bowled out for their 2nd lowest total in tournament’s history.
CSK could only score 97 runs while batting first in the game. Mumbai Indians displayed poor application with the bat and lost 5 wickets while chasing the meagre target.
MI vs CSK Highlights:
Playing XIs:
CSK: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Dwayne Bravo, Mahesh Theekshana, Simarjeet Singh, Mukesh Choudhary

CSK Inning:
Chennai Super Kings lost 5 wickets in the powerplay, making it impossible for them to make a comeback in the back. In one of the bizarre incidents of the game, when Devon Conway was given out LBW, he could not get a review cause there was a power cut in the stadium.
MS Dhoni was the only batter to show determination throughout CSK’s inning. He remained unbeaten on 36* off 33 while other CSK batters withered away like the autumn leaves. Daniel Sams picked up 3 wickets while Riler Meredith sent back 2 batters.
MI Inning:
Rohit Sharna and Ishan Kishan again disappointed the MI fans with their pathetic first wicket stand. Both batters failed to put up significant runs for their team. Once again, the young Tilak Varma carried Mumbai’s chase on his back.
Youngsters Tilak and Hrithik took MI close to the total, and Tim David ensured that Mumbai won the game. MI won with 5 wickets and 5 overs to spare.
