RCB Inning:

RCB got off to a flier with Faf du Plessis taking control during the powerplay. Kohli and Faf survived a few edges in the first 6 overs but did not perish. RCB scored their highest score of the powerplay of this season.

However, once the powerplay subsided, Faf, Kohli and Maxwell were out in quick succession and RCB was left tottering at 79/3 in 10 overs. Mahipal Lomror promoted up the order played a brilliant cameo as he went on to score 42 off 27.

Dinesh Karthik added 16 runs in the last over to help RCB post 173/8 in 20 overs.

CSK Inning:

CSK had a cautious start with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway carefully choosing to avoid any risky shots. However, similar to RCB, CSK lost the plot after the powerplay. Maxwell bowled beautifully to restrict the scoring rate and account for two CSK batters.

Shahbaz Ahmed got rid of Gaikwad, and Maxwell removed Uthappa and Rayudu. Hasaranga dismissed the well-set Conway to put RCB in the driver’s seat. Harshal Patel sent back Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali and Dwaine Pretorius to almost guarantee RCB’s win.

Josh Hazelwood put the final nail in the coffin by dismissing MS Dhoni. CSK fell short by 13 runs and probably got ousted from the playoffs race in RCB vs CSK clash.
