RCB vs PBKS, the 60th game of Tata IPL 2022, was dominated by Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone. The English batters made a mockery of the Royal Challengers’ bowling unit and helped Punjab post its highest total of the tournament. In reply, RCB batters failed to showcase the same brilliance at their turn on the crease, and PBKS easily won by 54 runs to climb to 6th position in the points table. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s net run rate has taken a huge hit which might end up costing them a spot in the playoffs.
RCB vs PBKS Highlights:

PBKS Inning:
Jonny Bairstow finally repaid the trust entrusted to him by the Punjab Kings’ management. He helped his team get off to a flier, and Punjab crossed the 100 run mark within 9 overs due to his explosive batting.
Bairstow scored 66 off 29, including 4 fours and 7 towering sixes. Liam Livingstone carried from where Bairstow had left off. Livingstone kept the scoreboard ticking at a fine rate with this destructive yet sensible approach. He amassed 70 off 42, including 4 gigantic sizes.
Josh Hazlewood conceded 64 runs in his quota of 4 overs to become the RCB bowler to concede the most runs in a game. Only Wanindu Hasaranga bowled with a decent economy rate. He took 2 wickets by giving away only a meagre 15 runs in his 4 overs.
RCB Inning:
Royal Challengers Bangalore were never in the contention of chasing down the target since they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Mahipal Lomror departed within the first 6 overs.
Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar tried to put up a stand, but both were dismissed in quick succession, which derailed the RCB’s short-found momentum. Dinesh Karthik could not weave the magic this time around since the task was too big for him alone.
Maxwell top-scored for Royal Challengers with 35 off 22. RCB finished with 155/9 in 20 overs. Kagiso Rabada dismissed three batters while Rishi Dhawan and Rahul Chahar picked up two wickets each.
