    The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League will be starting from March 31 and the last league match will be played on May 21. Defending Champions Gujarat Titans will be facing Chennai Super Kings in the opening encounter. 

    Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be playing their first match of IPL 2023 against Punjab Kings. The match will take place on April 1 (Saturday) at IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Shreyas Iyer is the skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023.

    1. Shreyas Iyer

    Shreyas Iyer is the current captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Last season, Iyer scored maximum runs (401 runs) for the team in 14 matches at an average of 30.85 and strike rate of 134+, which included 3 half-centuries. He can again come up with a good show in IPL 2023 and emerge as the man of the tournament.

    2. Umesh Yadav

    Umesh Yadav took 16 wickets in 12 games at an average of 21.18 and at an economy rate of just 7.06 last season for KKR. He was the 2nd highest wicket-taker of the team and also picked a 4-wicket haul in one of the matches. Yadav also gave good performances for the Indian team in the last Test against Australia.

    3. Shardul Thakur

    Shardul Thakur hunted 15 wickets in 14 games at an average of 31.53 and an economy of 9.78 last season, which included a four-wicket haul too. In the ODI series against New Zealand, Thakur hunted 6 wickets in 3 games at an average of 20.83.
