The 16th edition of this cash-rich tournament is set to start on March 31 with an opening match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad. The season will see a total of 70 league-stage matches that will be played across 12 venues for over 52 days.
Several players have over the years grabbed the opportunity of playing in the IPL with both hands and then eventually gone on to represent India. Hardik Pandya, Rahul Tripathi, Jasprit Bumrah and Surya Kumar Yadav are some of the examples we can give in this regard.
Here are 3 players who are yet to make their International debut for India, but a good IPL season can make this dream come true:
1. Yash Dhull
Yash Dhull was bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) for Rs. 50 lakhs in IPL 2022 auction, but did not get a game. Hence, If he plays in IPL 2023, he could receive a solid opportunity to prove his mettle and showcase the world as to what he has within himself. Dhull finished the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 season as Delhi’s highest run-getter with 479 runs at an average of 119.75.
2. Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan is the frontrunner to don the wicket keeping gloves for Delhi Capitals in absence of Rishabh Pant. Khan has been in red-hot form in the Ranji trophy in the last 3 editions, having an average of over 100 in all of them. Sarfaraz Khan can surely present a strong case for himself if he has a good IPL season.
3. Mohsin Khan
There is a dearth of left arm pacers in India and Mohsin Khan, who is a brilliant left-arm pacer and a decent batsman too, could well be a promising option for India in the white-ball formats. In the 9 matches he played for Lucknow, Moshin Khan had bagged 14 wickets and had a stupendous economy of 5.96.
