The IPL 2023 is introducing a new rule in the game – The Impact Player Rule. The rule is going to be introduced from this season onwards and it promises to give a new dimension to the tournament.
According to the Impact Player rule, each team will name four substitutes along with their starting XI on the team sheet before the toss. One of these four substitutes can later take an active part in the match as an Impact Player. The Impact Player can only be an Indian player unless the franchise has fewer than four overseas players in the Playing XI.

Players GT could possibly use as an ‘Impact Player’.
For GT, although their first XI is pretty much set, four players who can play as Impact player are:
If GT Batting 2nd: Abhinav Manohar, Rahul Tewatia
Manohar played some good cameos for Gujarat Titans last season. He scored 108 runs in 7 innings with a healthy strike rate of 144. Similarly, Tewatia also finished 3 to 4 games for GT last season. The strike rate of both these players make the management use any one of them as an impact player depending upon the situation of the team.
IF GT Bowling 2nd: R. Sai Kishore, Jayant Yadav
R Sai Kishore’s place in GT’s playing 11 is not confirmed. However, he has high chances of getting added to the team as an impact player. The slow Left arm orthodox spinner has been very impressive in domestic tournaments. Similarly, Jayant Yadav is also a brilliant spinner. Though his action is very simple, batsmen find him difficult to read sometimes. Any one of them could possibly be used as an ‘Impact Player’ depending upon the situation of the team.
