IPL 2023: All You Need To Know About KKR ‘Mystery Spinner’ – Suyash Sharma

Suyash dismissed Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat and Karn Sharma in his first IPL match against Bangalore.

In IPL 2023, the teams of Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore came face to face at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday. At the beginning of this match, when Kolkata’s new captain Nitish Rana announced the change in the team after the toss, he informed that Suyash Sharma is going to start his IPL career from his side today. Later, Suyash took 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs in the match. In such a situation, the question must have arisen in everyone’s mind: Who is Suyash Sharma?

All You Need To Know About Suyash Sharma

Suyash dismissed Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat and Karn Sharma in his first IPL match against Bangalore. Obviously, Suyash Sharma is an unknown name for all the cricket fans and why not. Actually, his cricket history till now is the biggest reason for this. It is surprising that Suyash Sharma’s age is only 19 years and Kolkata Knight Riders decided to field him in the very second match of such a big T20 league. But the more surprising thing is that Suyash Sharma does not have any experience of senior cricket level. Neither has he played any first-class cricket match till date, nor has he participated in any domestic ODI or T20 tournament.

Suyash Sharma comes from Delhi. He is a right arm leg spinner. He is also called ‘Mystery Spinner’. Playing cricket in Delhi, he made his way up to junior cricket and in that time his spin impressed many. Such was the impact that Kolkata Knight Riders decided to scout the player.

When it came to the player auction for IPL 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders bought Suyash Sharma for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs in a jiffy. According to KKR, this player has leg spin as well as a unique action and many variations that can trouble the batsmen.
