IPL 2023 is all set to start from tomorrow. 4-times title winner Chennai Super Kings will face the defending champion Gujarat Titans in a blockbuster match in the opener. However, with less than a few hours left for the match to begin, bad news has struck the CSK camp.
CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is still doubtful for the opening match due to the knee injury which he suffered during CSK’s practice session. If Dhoni misses out, it is likely that Ben Stokes will lead the side. However, CSK have another headache as Stokes will be only batting and he won’t be bowling at least in the initial period. Hence, Ruturaj Gaikwad could also lead in Dhoni’s absence.
CSK Injury List: Star all-rounder Kyle Jamieson has already been ruled out of the entire tournament of IPL 2023 due to injury. South Africa’s Sisanda Magala has been named as replacement.
Apart from Kyle Jamieson, left-arm pacer Mukesh Choudhary is waiting for fitness clearance to be able to participate in the season opener. Mukesh Choudhary is in serious doubt for IPL 2023.
