Two-times Indian Premier League (IPL) winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had a mediocre IPL 2022 season. Even in IPL 2023, the team is without their captain, Shreyas Iyer. However, KKR has shown some really good intent in all the matches the team has played so far in IPL 2023, and is one of the strongest contenders to win the title this year.

Out of all the reasons why KKR will win IPL 2023, one main reason is the presence of a highly experienced and immensely talented coach – Chandrakant Pandit.

Who is Chandrakant Pandit and what’s unique about him?

Chandrakant Pandit is one of the most respected coaches in the Indian domestic circuit. Under his guidance, Madhya Pradesh recently won their maiden Ranji Trophy title.

Prior to joining Vidarbha, Chandrakant was the coach of Mumbai and under his coaching Mumbai won the title in 2015/16 and finished runner-up in 2016/17.

By the way, Chandrakant Pandit did not get much opportunity to play for India. He participated in a total of 5 Test matches and 36 ODIs between 1986 and 1992. Chandrakant Pandit made his Test debut in 1986 in the Leeds Test against England. At the same time, in 1986, he made his One Day International debut against New Zealand in Sharjah.
