IPL 2023 | CSK vs LSG: CSK all-rounder Deepak Chahar hopes to stay injury-free throughout this season

After being sidelined for 2022 season, Chahar expresses gratitude towards CSK's "good" team attitude and wishes to play entire season injury-free.

CSK’s all-rounder, Deepak Chahar, who returned to IPL 2023 after missing the previous season due to injury, hopes to play the entire tournament without getting injured again. Chahar, who was picked for INR 14 Crore in the 2022 mega-auction, suffered a stress fracture and a quad tear that kept him out of action for eight months. However, he made a successful comeback in CSK’s opening match against Gujarat Titans, where he showed glimpses of his full potential and bowled economically, despite not taking any wickets.

Chahar, who has been a crucial asset for CSK with 46 wickets in the last three seasons, hopes to stay injury-free this year. Speaking with CSK TV, he expressed his wish to play the entire season without incurring an injury and emphasized how challenging it is for a fast bowler to come back from an injury.

Chahar also praised CSK’s “good” team environment, saying that a supportive team and a positive attitude towards winning the tournament are crucial for success. After finishing ninth in the last season in Chahar’s absence, CSK will be looking to turn their fortunes around this season. Their first home game of IPL 2023 will be against Lucknow Super Giants on April 3, where Chahar and his team will aim to secure their first win of the tournament.

Chahar’s return will be an added boost to the team, and his wish to play the entire tournament injury-free indicates his commitment to the team’s success. Fans can look forward to seeing Chahar in action throughout the tournament, supporting CSK in their quest for a fifth IPL title.
