Gujarat Titans (GT) emerged victorious against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 7th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Sai Sudharsan received the Player of the Match award for his match winning batting performance.
Gujarat Titans secured their second win of the season by defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets. While chasing 162, Gujarat Titans faced some early setbacks and were 54/3 inside the Powerplay. However, Sai Sudharsan played a crucial knock of 62 not out off 48 balls and anchored the chase.
Hardik Pandya, the captain of Gujarat Titans won the toss and decided to field first against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Gujarat Titans, the defending champions, displayed a disciplined bowling performance to limit Delhi Capitals to a total of 162/8 in Delhi. GT’s skipper, Hardik Pandya, opted to bowl, and his decision proved beneficial as the fiery pace duo of Mohammed Shami (3/41) and Alzarri Joseph (2/29) gave a strong start. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan emerged as the top bowler for GT, taking three wickets for 31 runs. Opener David Warner top-scored for Delhi Capitals with 37 runs off 32 balls. Axar Patel contributed 36 runs off 22 balls to help Delhi cross the 160-run mark.
The Gujarat Titans successfully chased down the target of 162 against the Delhi Capitals with six wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare. Sai Sudharsan played an excellent innings of 62 not out, and David Miller added 31 not out to steer the Titans to their second victory of the season. Despite being 54/3 inside the Powerplay, the Titans never looked in trouble during the chase. Delhi’s total of 162 was never going to be enough to challenge the defending champions.
