Here are three player battles to watch out for during DC vs KKR match:
1) David Warner vs Umesh Yadav
The Delhi Capitals skipper, David Warner, has been struggling to find his rhythm this season. Despite his reputation as an aggressive and consistent batter, Warner has not been able to keep up with his usual scoring rate. However, he’s due to come out of his shell and unleash his true potential, something that has made him an IPL legend. Warner will be up against the average-pace bowling unit of KKR and will look to make the most of it. But Umesh Yadav, who has had a forgettable season so far, will try to halt Warner’s charge in the powerplay.
2) Venkatesh Iyer vs Anrich Nortje
One of the top performers in the race for the orange cap this season is Venkatesh Iyer. He has been in sizzling form, scoring at a strike rate of 170 and two game-defining knocks, including a century against MI in Mumbai. Iyer prefers to score square of the wicket and will look to use the pace of Anrich Nortje to his advantage. Nortje, one of the top three fastest pacers in the tournament, will test Iyer with his fiery pace. Though it has been a disappointing season so far, Nortje has been at his best in almost all the games.
3) Rinku Singh vs Mustafizur Rahman
Rinku Singh has been in incredible form, finishing off games for his team. He played a crucial role in the game against RCB and went one better against GT, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. Rinku has now earned a reputation as one of the most destructive finishers in the game. In the game against DC, he will be up against Mustafizur Rahman. The left-arm seamer’s style of bowling might play into Rinku’s strengths, making it an interesting battle to watch during the death overs.
