IPL 2023 | DC vs RCB: Sourav Ganguly Remains Optimistic Despite Delhi Capitals’ Slow Start in the 16th Edition

Despite starting the season with four losses, Sourav Ganguly, Director of Cricket for Delhi Capitals, believes that his team can turn things around. With ten more league games remaining before the playoffs, Ganguly is hopeful that his young team can improve their batting and make a comeback.

Delhi Capitals’ Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, remains optimistic about his team’s performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Despite suffering four consecutive losses and sitting at the bottom of the points table, Ganguly believes that things can only improve for his team with ten more league games left before the playoffs.

In their previous match, the Capitals lost a thrilling last-ball encounter against the Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, where they failed to defend five runs off the final over. This is Delhi’s second-worst start to an IPL season after losing six in a row in 2013.

Ganguly admitted that the loss against MI was disappointing, but said that it is a part of the sport. He highlighted the areas the team needs to improve on, particularly in batting, with senior batters needing to take up more responsibility and ownership.

Despite the slow start, Ganguly remains positive about Delhi’s chances in the IPL. He believes that the young players will turn up and perform well on the high-scoring wicket in Bengaluru, and that every team goes through such phases in the tournament.

Delhi Capitals

Ganguly’s optimism will be tested as the Delhi Capitals take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday. RCB will be looking to bounce back after suffering two consecutive losses, and Delhi will be hoping for their first win of the tournament. It promises to be an exciting encounter between two teams looking to turn their fortunes around.
