IPL 2023: DC vs SRH: Axar Patel’s All-Round Show Helps Delhi Capitals Register Victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad

"Dismissing Aiden Markram with a Slower Ball was Enjoyable", Says Axar Patel after winning the Man of The Player Award

Axar Patel shines with both bat and ball to lead Delhi Capitals to a thrilling 7-run victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their recent match on April 24. In a superb all-round performance, Axar played a crucial knock of 34 runs when DC were struggling at 62 for 5 and stitched a valuable partnership of 69 runs with Manish Pandey. With the ball, Axar was equally impressive as he broke the back of the SRH batting order by dismissing Mayank Agarwal and the captain Aiden Markram for just 3 runs. He finished the game with a spell of 2 for 21 off his four overs, which helped Delhi Capitals win their second game in the ongoing season.

Axar Bat

After his match-winning performance, Axar was named Man of the Match. Speaking about his crucial knock of 34, he said, “Important was 34 in 34. I ordered for coffee and I left the glass like that when three wickets fell in one over. Pandey and I discussed we need to take it as deep as possible. (On the surface) It was slow, the ball was coming off slowly. I felt that me and Kuldeep can tie up the batters on this surface, so it was enjoyable.”

Axar’s outstanding all-round display certainly gave them a much-needed push in the right direction.

Axar Bowl

Overall, Axar’s performance was the highlight of the match, and it was evident that his contributions with the bat and ball played a significant role in securing the victory for Delhi Capitals. Axar’s ability to turn the game in his team’s favor makes him a crucial asset for Delhi Capitals in the rest of the tournament.
