The ongoing IPL 2023 match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) witnessed a scary moment when Kane Williamson, the star batsman of GT, suffered a knee injury. The incident took place during the 13th over of the match when Williamson made a stunning acrobatic effort to stop the ball from going over the boundary ropes.
The New Zealand superstar timed his jump to perfection, caught the ball with both hands while being airborne, and flicked it back into play before landing awkwardly on his right leg. As a result, he lost his balance and his entire body weight fell on his right knee, leaving him in severe pain. Williamson was soon attended to by the physio before being assisted out of the ground.

GT, who are the defending champions, suffered a huge blow with this injury as Williamson is one of their key players. Earlier in the match, CSK’s pace spearhead Mohammed Shami had dismissed the dangerous Devon Conway for just 1, but Ruturaj Gaikwad’s whirlwind effort with the bat helped CSK recover from the early setback and take charge of the proceedings.
