IPL 2023 | GT vs LSG: “IPL sets the highest standard of cricket among all domestic leagues,” says Josh Little of Gujarat Titans

In a recent interview, Gujarat Titans' Josh Little, the first Irish player signed by an IPL team, praised the standard of cricket in the IPL, stating that it is the closest to international cricket compared to any other domestic league in the world.

Irish cricketer Josh Little, who is currently playing for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), recently spoke to News 18 about the difference between IPL and other domestic leagues around the world. According to him, IPL offers the highest standard of cricket and is the closest to international cricket, making it stand out from other leagues.

Having played for franchises in multiple leagues, including The Hundred, Pakistan Super League, SA20, and the Lanka Premier League, Little explained that the standard of cricket in IPL is what sets it apart. With crowds of spectators, long travel schedules, and numerous games packed into two months, IPL presents a unique and challenging experience for players, making it a more competitive league.

Little’s performance in the T20 World Cup and the Hundred caught the attention of IPL teams, and he was sold to Gujarat Titans for INR 4.4 crore in last year’s mini-auction. Despite not playing regularly for the defending champions, he has taken three wickets in four matches so far.

In an interview, Little discussed his surprise at his high price tag during the auction and how he felt watching his name being auctioned from home. He was delighted to be chosen by Gujarat Titans and is looking forward to playing regularly for the team in the future.
