IPL 2023 | GT vs RR: Harbhajan Singh hails Jos Buttler as the “No. 1 batter in world cricket”

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has praised Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler as the best batter in the world in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

Harbhajan Singh, former Indian cricketer, has heaped praise on Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler, calling him the “No. 1 batter in world cricket at the moment” and describing him as a “proper batter of the cricket ball.” Harbhajan Singh was all praises for Buttler after his splendid knock of 52 runs off 36 balls that helped his team clinch a three-run victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Buttler currently sits in third place in the orange cap race with 204 runs in 4 innings at an average of 51 and a strike rate of 170.

Singh was in awe of Buttler’s technique and footwork against both pace and spin. He believes that the England white-ball captain has excellent technical attributes that make him a versatile player. Buttler has already smashed three half-centuries in four innings in the IPL 2023.

Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan Royals skipper, also expressed his happiness with the team’s thrilling victory over CSK, which moved them to the top of the points table. He praised his team’s effort and contribution, saying that every player was involved in the win. Samson further added that the team was looking to leave Chennai with “happy memories” by winning the match.

The Rajasthan Royals will now face the Gujarat Titans (GT) in their next match of the season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, April 16.
