Irfan Pathan, the former Indian all-rounder, has shared some intriguing insights about Punjab Kings (PBKS) and their team strategy in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead of the 2023 season. According to Pathan, PBKS has been plagued by inconsistency in their team selection over the years, with changes made to their engine every season. In his words, “For many years their engine has kept changing. They’ve changed their engine almost as many times as the number of years the IPL has been played.”
Despite this, Pathan is optimistic about the upcoming season, especially when it comes to the bowling unit. He believes that PBKS has one of the most formidable bowling attacks in the league, with top-quality bowlers like Sam Curran, Kagiso Rabada, and Arshdeep Singh. Pathan emphasized the importance of hitting the right areas in the Mohali pitch, which can make a huge difference for the bowlers.
