Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rajasthan Royals’ explosive opener, scored an unbeaten 98 runs off 47 deliveries in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. Jaiswal may have missed out on a century, but his innings helped RR end their three-match losing streak this season, as the visitors won by 9 wickets. Following the match-winning innings, RR opener began to receive praise on social media. One of the highest accolades came from none other than Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Jay Shah Tweeted- “A special knock by young @ybj_19 for hitting the fastest IPL fifty. He has shown tremendous grit and passion towards his game. Congratulations on achieving history. May you continue this fine form in future. #TATAIPL2023”

As soon as Shah tweeted about Jaiswal’s knock, Indian fans began predicting a national call-up for the youngster. Jaiswal has been in excellent form this season and is a strong contender for the Orange Cap. In the most runs table, he is just one run behind leader Faf du Plessis (576 runs). In IPL 2023, Jaiswal has a strike rate of 167.15 and an average of 52.27. He entered the IPL 2023 after a strong domestic season.
