Kane Williamson has been subject to a lot of scrutiny in the recent times in white ball cricket. Many cricketing experts have called his playing his style outdated in T20 cricket and against the tide of current times. Yet, Williamson continues to be a pillar of New Zealand cricket team in the international cricket. He was released ahead of the IPL 2022 mini-auction by Sunrisers Hyderabad.
No one except Gujarat Titans registered a bid for Kane Williamson in the mini-auction. He was sold at his price of Rs 2 Crores to the defending champions. Williamson will feature in the Gujarat Titans purely as a batter as Hardik Pandya is going to captain the side.
