IPL 2023 LKN vs DC: Injury Updates for Match 3 of the Tournament

Too many players from both LKN & DC will miss the upcoming match due to national commitments, while few are struggling through injuries.

On Saturday, April 1, the 3rd match of IPL 2023 will take place at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, where Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face off against Delhi Capitals (DC).

The two teams are set to face each other in Ekana Stadium, at Lucknow. The Lucknow Super Giants led by KL Rahul, and David Warner replacing the injured Rishabh Pant as the Delhi Capitals captain.

Both the teams have many superstars in their squad and the fans are expecting a blockbuster match between the power-packed Lucknow Super Giants and star-stunned Delhi Capitals. However, a few players from both these teams are also struggling through injuries or will miss the match 3 of the tournament due to national commitments.

IPL 2023 LKN vs DC: Injury Updates for Match 3 of the Tournament

Last season, KL Rahul played brilliantly, scoring 616 runs in 15 innings, while Avesh Khan emerged as the top bowler for LKN, taking 18 wickets in 13 innings. This season, LKN has further bolstered their squad with the addition of Nicholas Pooran, Daniel Sams, Jaydev Unadkat, Romario Shepherd, and Amit Sharma.

In the previous season, David Warner was the sole cricketer to score more than 400 runs for the DC, scoring 432 runs from 12 innings. Khaleel Ahmed performed well in the bowling department, taking 16 wickets from only ten innings, whereas Kuldeep Yadav topped with 21 wickets from 14 innings. In the current season, DC have strengthened their squad with the addition of Phil Salt, Rilee Rossouw, Mukesh Kumar, as well as the experienced pair of Manish Pandey and Ishant Sharma.

LKN vs DC: Injury Updates for Match 3 of the Tournament

Lucknow Super Giants

The Lucknow Super Giants will miss the services of Indian pacer Mohsin Khan, who has been ruled out of the IPL due to a shoulder injury.

Other key player who will miss the opening game for Lucknow is explosive South African wicket-keeper batter Quinton de Kock, who is on national duty.

Delhi Capitals

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals have also been hit by injuries, with regular skipper and batting mainstay Rishabh Pant almost ruled out of the tournament with several injuries that he faced during a car accident last year.

Apart from Pant, the two South African pacers Nortje and Ngidi are also going to miss the match 3 of the tournament due to national commitments.

Both teams boast a combination of young power-hitters who can score quick runs and experienced players whose mere presence can intimidate their opponents.
