Krunal Pandya, the all-rounder for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023, gave a match-winning performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In addition to scoring 34 runs, he also picked up three crucial wickets in the first innings, helping his team secure a 5-wicket victory. The performance earned him the Man of the Match award, and he attributed his success to his bowling strategy.
Speaking to teammate Amit Mishra in a video posted on Twitter by IPL, Pandya explained that his wickets were a result of varying his pace for new batters. He aimed to keep it straight and quick in the air, making it difficult for the opposition to hit. “Some balls were spinning, some were going straight. So I was just trying to vary my pace whenever a new batter came in,” he said.

Pandya also credited his performance in the second innings to his understanding of the pitch while bowling in the first innings. He knew the approach he needed to take to score runs and played with intent to secure the win.

Lucknow Super Giants have won two matches and lost one in IPL 2023 so far, with victories against Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad and a loss to Chennai Super Kings.
