Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Yash Thakur expressed his astonishment at his team’s achievement of reaching the second-highest team total in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Thakur credited the batters for their self-belief and adaptability, which helped them post the highest total in the ongoing edition of the tournament. Although LSG fell short of breaking RCB’s record of 263 runs by six runs, their score of 257 for five wickets was a remarkable feat in itself.
Thakur emphasized the importance of adjusting to different pitch conditions and acknowledged that they won’t always get batting-friendly tracks. The bowler also noted that LSG’s middle-order batsmen decided on the best score for the pitch and played accordingly. Thakur’s comments came after LSG defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 58 runs in a match held at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on April 28.

The KL Rahul-led LSG team rose to second place in the 10-team points table, with a Net Run Rate of +0.841 and ten points. Their next match will be against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 1 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
