IPL 2023 | LSG vs RR: Jonty Rhodes Praises KL Rahul’s Leadership and Batting Form

Lucknow Super Giants Fielding Coach Jonty Rhodes backs Skipper KL Rahul.

Jonty Rhodes, the fielding coach of Lucknow Super Giants, has spoken out in support of KL Rahul, the team’s captain, after their recent loss to Punjab Kings. Despite Punjab Kings’ victory, Jonty Rhodes believes that KL Rahul is not struggling with his form and is still an effective leader for the team.

KL Rahul

Punjab Kings secured their third win of the IPL campaign against LSG, which brought LSG down to second place on the points table. Punjab Kings were without their captain Shikhar Dhawan in the last game, but they managed to win against LSG with a two-wicket margin.

KL Rahul, on the other hand, finally managed to score his first fifty of this season against his former franchise, scoring 74 off 56 balls to lay the foundation for his team to reach 159/8. PBKS chased down the target of 160 with three balls to spare.

Jonty Rhodes expressed confidence in KL Rahul’s ability to score runs and lead the team. He said that KL Rahul lays a solid foundation for other batters to play around him and that his captaincy is not affecting his batting form.

Jonty Rhodes also revealed that KL Rahul has been batting superbly in the nets, and it was only a matter of time before he scored runs in the tournament. He further added that captaincy is not something that bothers Rahul, and he leads from the front, which is great to see.

LSG

LSG will face Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium on April 19, which is the first game of the tournament to be played in Jaipur. With Jonty Rhodes’ words of support, KL Rahul will be eager to continue his form and lead his team to victory.
