Mark Wood, the England fast bowler, has been impressing with his bowling skills in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He has taken eight wickets in just two games, with a five-wicket haul on his debut against the Delhi Capitals (DC). However, Wood struggled in the subsequent game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), giving away plenty of runs.
Morne Morkel, the LSG bowling coach, spoke about Wood’s success as a fast bowler in the IPL and expressed his admiration for his abilities. Morkel cited Wood’s exceptional pace and accuracy as crucial factors for his success. Morkel also addressed the selection dilemma that will arise once Quinton de Kock becomes available due to Kyle Mayers’ outstanding performance. Despite Mayers’ incredible display against CSK, Lucknow lost by 12 runs, failing to chase down a target of 218.
LSG will be hoping for Wood to continue his form and lead the bowling attack for the rest of the IPL season. With his impressive pace and accuracy, the Englishman is a force to be reckoned with and could prove to be a key player in the Super Giants’ bid for glory.
