IPL 2023 | LSG vs SRH: LSG might Face Selection Dilemma with Kyle Mayers’ firing and Quinton de Kock’s Arrival, says Morne Morkel

With Kyle Mayers in Red-Hot Form, LSG Must Make Tough Decisions When Quinton de Kock Arrives, Bowling coach Morne Morkel highlights Mayers' improvement and how LSG will have to make tough choices with both players in form.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are in a unique predicament, faced with the challenge of choosing between two in-form players. With Quinton de Kock unavailable for the first couple of matches, LSG turned to Kyle Mayers to open with captain KL Rahul. However, after two matches, Mayers has become a revelation in IPL 2023, becoming the first player in tournament history to score back-to-back half-centuries on debut, and firmly sitting in second place in the race for Orange Cap.

Morkel highlighted Mayers’ impressive progress in becoming a quality white-ball cricketer and commended his scintillating performances in the tournament so far.

LSG fans are eager to see how the team will handle the selection dilemma and whether Mayers will be able to maintain his spot in the playing XI.
