Indian Premier League 2023 is set to kick off on 31st March 2023 with a clash between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. Mumbai Indians, the five time champions are in a lot trouble as they are going to be without their top pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson. Both of them have been ruled out due to injuries. It seems that the problems are not stopping for Mumbai Indians as Rohit Sharma is also expected to not play a few matches for his team in the upcoming edition of IPL.
Board of Cricket Council of India has made it clear that the workload of Indian cricket team players is going to be managed throughout the year to avoid any injuries before the World Test Championship Final and 2023 World Cup. Many senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Mohammad Shami will skip a few matches in IPL to avoid the scare of injuries.

According to the latest reports, BCCI is quite concerned about the fitness of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. He has struggled with injuries in the past couple of years and thus he is advised to sit out a few matches in IPL 2023.
In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav is expected to lead the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023.
