IPL 2023: Massive theft in Delhi Capitals’ camp; 16 bats, pads, thigh pads, shoes and gloves gets stolen

This is the first time that the belongings of the players were stolen from the transit itself.

Delhi Capitals: Troubled by consecutive defeats, another difficulty has arisen for Delhi Capitals. Team players’ belongings have been stolen. According to the news of the Indian Express, 16 bats, pads, thigh pads, shoes and gloves went missing from the kit bags of Delhi players. The Delhi team had left for the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday and reached back to Delhi on Tuesday. The team has to play its next match against Punjab in Mohali.

According to the news, the players whose bats were stolen include team captain David Warner’s three, Mitchell Marsh’s two and wicket-keeper batsman Phil Salt’s three and young player Yash Dhull’s five bats. Marsh and Warner’s bats cost one lakh rupees. Apart from this, shoes, gloves and some other cricket items have been stolen from the bags of some players.

When the kit bags reached the players’ room, they found that some items were missing. They informed the franchisee about this. Delhi Capitals have lodged a complaint to the police regarding this theft. The players of the team somehow participated in the practice session on Tuesday.

“All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport. The investigation is on,” a source in Delhi Capitals confirmed.

After the match is over, every player keeps the belongings outside the room. From here these goods are taken in transit and then transported to the next place from there. Players get these kit bags outside their rooms. However, this is the first time that the belongings of the players were stolen from the transit itself.
