Michael Bracewell, who was added to RCB’s squad as a replacement for Will Jacks, is all set to make his IPL debut on April 2 against Mumbai Indians. Michael Bracewell is likely to make his IPL debut in RCB’s opening game because Glenn Maxwell is in serious doubt to play the match against Mumbai Indians on April 2.
Maxwell, who broke his leg in a freak accident last November returned to international cricket earlier this month during the India-Australia ODIs but missed out the last two games. Even now he is not looking match fit. Hence, if he misses the opening game, there is no other overseas batsman better than Michael Bracewell in RCB’s squad.
Michael Bracewell is a player just like Glenn Maxwell. The left-hand batsman can bowl some of the crucial overs in the middle and can even take the charge of destructive batting when needed. He recently performed very well on Indian pitches in a bilateral series against India.
In another development, fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is also set to miss the initial stages of the tournament as he is currently recovering from an Achilles problem which kept him out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India.
