IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians Always Had Faith in Suryakumar Yadav’s Skill and Talent, says Mohammad Kaif

Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has praised Mumbai Indians for their unwavering faith in middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav's skill and talent. MI all-rounder Tim David also lauded Yadav's innings against RR, calling it special.

Suryakumar Yadav’s form was a major concern for Mumbai Indians (MI) earlier this IPL 2023 season. With three back-to-back golden ducks against Australia, the middle-order batsman was struggling to find his rhythm. However, his franchise had complete faith in his abilities and never doubted his talent. Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif said that MI had backed Suryakumar from the beginning, and his recent match-winning knocks have proven his worth.

In the recent game against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Suryakumar played a match-winning innings, scoring 55 runs off just 29 balls. It was the catalyst for MI to chase down the massive target of 213 runs. His teammate Tim David also praised his special innings, with Surya hitting his first ball for six.

Despite the rough patch, Suryakumar Yadav has found his form back, with two back-to-back 50s in the past two matches.
