Rajat Patidar, who made a splash in IPL 2022 for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), may be ruled out of the first half of the upcoming season due to injury. Patidar is currently at the NCA in Bengaluru recuperating from a heel injury.
Patidar did not get any buyer in the mega auction held last year. Patidar was included in the squad as a replacement for wicketkeeper Luvnith Sisodia after he was ruled out midway of the tournament.
Patidar scored 333 runs in 7 innings for RCB last season at a strike rate of 152.75. In terms of scoring runs for RCB, he was at number three after captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli. Patidar scored a 49-ball century in the Eliminator match against Lucknow Super Giants, which is the fastest by an uncapped player in the IPL.

After this, Patidar also performed brilliantly in domestic cricket. He was a part of the Madhya Pradesh team that won the Ranji Trophy last season. Apart from Patidar, there are also doubts about Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood playing in the opening matches. Hazlewood is currently recovering from Achilles tendonitis. Due to this injury, Hazlewood left the Border-Gavaskar Trophy midway and returned to Australia.
