IPL 2023 | RCB vs DC: Wanindu Hasaranga all set to boost RCB’s bowling attack with his return ahead of clash against DC

Wanindu Hasaranga shares his excitement about joining RCB for IPL 2023 and his first training session with the team. The Sri Lankan leg-spinner has been a crucial player for RCB and his return to the team after fulfilling his international duties is expected to strengthen the team’s bowling attack. Hasaranga was the second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2022 and picked up 26 wickets in 16 games at an economy rate of 7.54.

In a video posted on RCB’s YouTube channel, Wanindu Hasaranga revealed his excitement about rejoining the RCB team and stated that he was bowling well and looked in a good rhythm. He also expressed his readiness to perform in the upcoming match against Delhi Capitals. “I was waiting for joining the RCB family this year. I’m really happy to see the boys and train well. I was bowling on the first day after last year’s competition. Bowling is going well, and I hit well and adjust to the wickets in Bangalore. I think personally, I am ready to go,” said Hasaranga.

RCB’s Director of Cricket Operations, Mike Hesson, also spoke about Hasaranga’s return and highlighted the importance of the leg-spinner’s training session. Hesson stated that Hasaranga had a nice innings with the bat and had spun a bit of the ball, which was nice to see. He added that it was a very important day for Hasaranga to get a change from the conditions in New Zealand to the conditions in India.

RCB is currently looking to bounce back after suffering two consecutive losses against Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. They began their IPL 2023 campaign with a thumping win against Mumbai Indians. With the return of Wanindu Hasaranga, the team’s chances of winning the upcoming match against Delhi Capitals have increased, and RCB will look to take advantage of that to get their IPL 2023 campaign back on track.
