Kolkata Knight Riders star batsman Jason Roy, who played a brilliant innings of 56 runs in 29 balls in KKR’s last match against RCB, has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct in the last game.
Roy admitted to the Level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct,” the statement read.
“For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” it further said.
But, the question arises – What was the reason for which Jason Roy has been punished with such a hefty amount?
Jason Roy was slapped with a 10 percent fine because he angrily hit one of the bails after being dismissed during the game. Jason Roy walked back after being bowled by Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Vijaykumar Vyshak.
However, before this, Jason Roy played an important role in the victory of KKR by doing excellent batting. Jason Roy played a brilliant innings of 56 runs in 29 balls and with the help of this inning, KKR scored a big score of 200 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs. Chasing this target, RCB team could score only 179 runs in 20 overs.
This was KKR’s third win in the 8th match of IPL 16. With this win, KKR has reached the seventh position in the points table. Not only this, KKR’s hope of reaching the playoffs is also intact.
