Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh had nothing but high praise for Rajasthan Royals’ Shimron Hetmyer after his incredible performance against Gujarat Titans. In the post-match discussion on Star Sports, Singh commented that Hetmyer was playing at an entirely different level in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
Hetmyer played a sensational knock of 56 runs off 26 balls, which included two fours and five sixes, to help his team chase down the target of 178 runs. The southpaw, batting down the order, formed a crucial partnership with skipper Sanju Samson and stayed till the end to secure a victory for his team.

Singh commended Hetmyer’s sensible approach to the game, stating that he played shots on the merit of the ball and batted properly. The 42-year-old also praised the contributions of Dhruv Jurel and Ravichandran Ashwin, which allowed Hetmyer to stay at the crease till the end.
Singh was in awe of Hetmyer’s ability to hit boundaries even when the ball was not in his zone, emphasizing his West Indian power. He also applauded the Rajasthan Royals for playing fantastic cricket, even when their in-form batter, Jos Buttler, failed to score runs.
