While he currently has no plans to pursue a career in politics, he did not rule out the possibility of doing so in the future if it is “written in his destiny.”

He has also made a significant impact in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he is set to captain the Punjab Kings in the upcoming edition of the tournament. He confessed that if he were a selector, he would have also chosen Gill over himself, as the young opener has showcased remarkable performances and secured his position as a reliable opener in the team.
