Key Battles to Look Forward During the Clash between Hyderabad and Lucknow in IPL 2023

The match 58 of IPL 2023 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday, 13th May promises to be an exciting contest. Hyderabad is on the ninth position in the points table, while Lucknow is on the fifth position.

SRH, led by Aiden Markram, have won four and lost six matches so far, while LSG, captained by Krunal Pandya, have won five and lost five matches in their campaign. In their last match, SRH secured a comfortable win against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).  Meanwhile, LSG suffered a huge loss against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in their last match.

Two highly skilled teams are set to collide in what promises to be an exciting match. With both the teams eager to secure their fifth and sixth win in the IPL 2023. Both teams have played ten and eleven matches in this season. Hyderabad has won 0 games, while Lucknow has won 2 games so far in the head to head encounters.

1) Quinton de Kock vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

In the upcoming clash between SRH and MI, fans can look forward to the battle between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Quinton de Kock. The LSG opener has faced Bhuvneshwar on ten occasions in the IPL but is yet to be dismissed by him. In this battle, de Kock has scored 49 runs off 49 deliveries. In T20I meetings, Bhuvneshwar has got de Kock out once in four matches.

2) Heinrich Klaasen vs Ravi Bishnoi

Heinrich Klaasen has been a vital cog in SRH’s middle order this season, smashing some stunning cameos. However, the leg-spinners have proved to be his nemesis, dismissing him twice this season. Therefore, SRH might unleash Ravi Bishnoi against him, who has picked up 12 wickets in 11 games at an economy rate of 7.91.

3) Nicholas Pooran vs T Natarajan            

Nicholas Pooran has been in tremendous form in the last five overs of the innings, boasting a strike rate of 150 this season. However, he might face a challenge against SRH pacer T Natarajan, known for his accurate yorkers. Pooran has managed to score 31 runs off 19 balls against Natarajan without being dismissed. This season, Natarajan has been conceding runs at an economy rate of 9.50 in the last five overs.
