Rajasthan Royals (RR) emerged victorious against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 4th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Jos Buttler received the Player of the Match award for his quick-fire performance with the bat.
Yuzvendra Chahal grabs a match-winning haul of 4/17 to help restrict SRH to 131/8 after half-centuries from Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Sanju Samson help RR post a commanding 203/5. Jos Buttler smashed a brilliant half-century and gave Rajasthan a flying start against Sunrisers.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to field first against the Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.

RR was put to bat first by Sunrisers Hyderabad, and openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided an explosive start. Buttler brought up his half-century in just 20 balls, and was cleaned up for 54 off 22 balls. RR scored 85/1 at the end of the powerplay, and at the end of 10 overs, RR was at 122/1. The duo of Samson-Jaiswal brought up the 50-run stand in just 36 balls. RR concluded their innings at 203/5 in 20 overs, with Natrajan being the pick of the bowlers for SRH with 2/23.
SRH had a bad start to their chase of 204 runs as Trent Boult dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi for ducks in the first over. Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal tried to rebuild the innings but SRH continued to lose wickets. Chahal was the pick of the bowlers for RR, taking 4/17 in his four overs. SRH finished their innings at 131/8, losing the match by 72 runs.
