    The Rajasthan Royals is an Indian Premier League cricket team that represents the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. They were one of the original eight teams to compete in the IPL’s inaugural season in 2008. Sanju Samson is the current captain, and Andrew McDonald is the coach. The team won the IPL trophy in its inaugural season in 2008. They were runners-up the previous year. 

    In this article, we will take a look at the top 7 retained players of the Rajasthan Royals for the IPL 2023 edition.

    1) Jos Buttler

    Jos Butler, the English cricketer, has been with the Rajasthan Royals since 2016 and is the team’s most experienced player. He appeared in 17 games for the team last year and scored 863 runs. He was his team’s leading run scorer in the IPL 2022.

    He was retained by the team for ten crores in the IPL Mega Auction 2022, and he has been retained once more ahead of the IPL mini-auction in 2023. The Rajasthan Royals Team Management expects the Jos to deliver a similar performance in this year’s IPL.

    2) Sanju Samson

    Sanju Samson is an Indian cricketer who played 17 matches for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 and scored 458 runs, making him the team’s second-leading run scorer. He also serves as the Captain of the Rajasthan Royals.

    He was retained by the team management for 14 crores and is expected to play an important role in the IPL 2023.

    3) Trent Boult

    Trent Boult is a New Zealand cricketer who has played in 16 matches for the Rajasthan Royals. He has taken 16 wickets for the team.

    He was signed by the team for whooping ₹8 Crores and he is expected to lead the bowling attack in the IPL 2023 edition.

    4) Ravichandran Ashwin

    Ashwin is an Indian cricketer who has played in 17 matches for the Rajasthan Royals. He has scored 191 runs with the bat and taken 12 wickets with the ball for his team.

    He was signed by the franchise for ₹5 Crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction and he is expected to be a key player in the IPL 2023 edition.

    5) Prasidh Krishna

    Prasidh Krishna is a young Indian cricketer who has played for the Rajasthan Royals in 17 matches. In the IPL 2022, he took 19 wickets for his team.

    In the IPL 2022 mega auction, he was signed by the team for 10 crores. The Royals will be looking for him to replicate his performance in the IPL 2023 edition.

    6) Devdutt Padikkal

    Padikkal is a promising young Indian cricketer. Devdutt continued his good form from the previous two seasons, finishing as the third leading run scorer for his side with 376 runs in 17 matches at an average of 22.12 and strike rate of 122.88.

    He was signed by the team for 7.75 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction, and the franchise expects him to perform similarly in the IPL 2023 edition.

    7) Yuzvendra Chahal

    Yuzvendra Chahal is an Indian cricketer who has appeared in 17 matches for the Rajasthan Royals, taking 27 wickets with an economy rate of 7.75.

    He was signed for 6.50 crores by the team and is expected to be a key player in the IPL 2023 edition.
