The former RCB skipper displayed nerves of steel in the virtual quarterfinal at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, catapulting his team to a commanding total of 197 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a momentary stumble with three quick wickets, Kohli remained resolute, crafting his second century of the season and guiding his side to a formidable score. The right-handed maestro’s unbeaten knock of 101 from 61 balls left spectators awestruck, embellished with 13 boundaries and a towering six.

With this remarkable feat, Virat Kohli scripted history by surpassing Chris Gayle’s record for the most centuries in the history of the IPL. This dazzling century marks Kohli’s seventh in the tournament, surpassing Gayle’s six. Jos Buttler stands third on the list with five centuries to his name. Virat Kohli’s journey to IPL centurion began in 2016 when he notched his maiden ton, followed by three more in the same season, propelling RCB to the final. He secured his fifth century against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2019 and added two more in the ongoing season.
