RCB captain Faf du Plessis injured his rib while fielding during the match against CSK.
“Early on in the match, I was diving around and I thought I went at it with my rib, that was the cause of discomfort,”
He added: ”I lost a little bit of power towards the end, was disappointed as I got stiff.”
During his knock, he was seen getting heavily strapped around his stomach after the 13th over. Though the extent of the injury is still unknown, a few reports state that Faf is likely to be rested in RCB’s next match against PBKS on April 20.

However, the question arises: Who will lead RCB if Faf fails to take the field in the match against PBKS?
Two possible contenders are in the race to lead RCB in absence of Faf du Plessis – Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli. While Virat Kohli was RCB’s captain before Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell is a great leader too. However, it’s unlikely that Virat Kohli will lead RCB once again as the batter is going with a brilliant form without the pressure of captaincy on his head. Moreover, during the match between RCB and CSK, when Faf got off the field, Maxwell took over the leadership duties in his absence. Hence, most probably, Glenn Maxwell will lead RCB in Faf du Plessis absence.
RCB has won only 2 matches out of the 5 matches the side has played so far. They will be playing their next match against PBKS on April 20.
