Kolkata Knight Riders signed English batter Jason Roy on Wednesday for the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023). Now the question arises, if he will play today vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) or not.

Jason Roy set his base price at INR 1.5 crore, but Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have paid almost twice the amount– INR 2.8 crore to acquire England’s Jason Roy for the IPL 2023.

Will Jason Roy Play In The Match Against RCB Today?

KKR have provided a huge update and also confirmed when Jason can be expected to play. The report states that Jason Roy won’t be able to play in KKR’s upcoming game against RCB. Prior to KKR’s game against the Gujarat Titans on Sunday, the right-hander will travel directly to Ahmedabad and there will join the rest of the team.

Roy last played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 season. He scored 150 runs, including a half-century, in 5 games in that season. The 32-year-old has participated in 64 T20 Internationals for England, recording 8 fifties and 1522 runs at a S/R of 137.61.

Kolkata Knight Riders looked clueless in their opening game against Punjab Kings as they suffered a 7-run loss as per DLS. But it’s fair to say that they weren’t up to the mark as they struggled to get going with both bat and ball. However, KKR will be looking to make a comeback in their second game against RCB on April 6.
